Cardinal Richelieu/Captain Treville is a pairing in Musketeers fandom. Their canon relationship is portrayed as antagonistic occasional allies/mostly enemies. They tend to work together for the common good of France, but have differing opinions on what constitutes the good of France, and what lengths to go to in order to achieve those goals.
History
Interest began in this ship early in 2014, with the first published fic on AO3 coming on Valentine's Day. Since then, fanworks have progressively been added, with new blood being drawn into the ship thanks to Peter Capaldi's tenure as the Doctor. There remains a steady Tumblr community as well.
