Category talk:Combi Relationships

So to clarify, this category exists separately from Category:Gen Relationships in the same way that we have Category:Slash Pairings and Category:Yaoi Pairings and Category:Boys' Love Pairings?? Except people seem to be putting ship pages in both Gen and Combi categories, rather than treating them as separate, exclusive fandom groups? -- Quaelegit (talk) 21:39, 12 May 2024 (UTC)

Yup. Terms like "Gen" and "Het" in particular have fallen off in usage, but Fanlore treats both cats like catch alls for any Female/Male Character & Character relationship, so almost all "combis" with enough fanac to warrant pages warrant being in both cats if they have followings both in Japan and in the west. Honestly almost all "Yaoi Pairing" pages are in the same boat and can be considered "Slash", "MLM", "M/M", all sorts of things. Also the "platonic ship" infobox automatically puts ships into the "Gen" cat, so that's unavoidable.--Cavewomania (talk) 04:22, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
