Disney Channel is an American channel, while it usually just replays the same Disney shows and movies it has since grown and added more original series. Also because of its two canon crossovers "movie" specials (consists of three episodes each), several of the shows share a universe.

Overall the fandom is considered to be made up by several different ones (of each one a show or film that airs or had aired on the channel), however they are considered to be under the Disney Channel fandom as well. The fandom especially grew under in the 2000s with original such as including Even Stevens (2000–2003), Lizzie McGuire (2001–2004), Kim Possible (2002–2007), That's So Raven (2003–2007), Phil of the Future (2004–2006), The Suite Life of Zack and Cody (2005–2008), and Hannah Montana (2006–2011). It continued to gather fanbase with the new series Camp Rock, Wizards of Waverly Place, JONAS, Sonny With A Chance, Suite Life on Deck, and Good Luck Charlie.
