Harry Potter FanFic Archive was an archive for Harry Potter fanfiction with over 18,000 members.[1] The site didn't allow m/m slash or mpreg.
Stories were sorted by pairing, character, author, title, categories, ratings and warnings. The archive had a recommendation section, and a Challenges (prompts) section.
Femslash didn't appear under pairings, but it was listed under warnings, and it wasn't against the rules.
The archive used the eFiction software.
History
The archive's creator and owner, Chad (CazBandit), died suddenly in March of 2020.[2]
In November 2021, it was announced that the Harry Potter FanFic Archive would be moving to the Archive of Our Own as an Open Doors Project with the help of its new custodian.[2] The announcement also noted:
The Harry Potter FanFic Archive will be closed to new and updated works from 12 December 2021, at which time we will take a full backup. The site will be permanently closed down on 31 December 2021.[2]
The import was completed in September 2022.[3] The archive's fic now appears in the Harry Potter FanFic Archive AO3 collection, and the Challenges are in an attached AO3 Prompt Meme subcollection.
