Summary

"'Are you still nervous?' Minho asks, retaining that addictive nonchalance to his voice.

Jisung releases a pathetic little laugh between his gritting teeth. 'Yeah,' he breathes out. 'Just a little bit.'

'Let me smoke you out, then.'

Jisung makes the mistake of letting his curious gaze wander, allowing a mesmerized 'How?' to escape him. He's done the moment their eyes meet, because then Minho's taking Jisung's jaw in his hand while the other holds what's left of his blunt, dark eyes trailing down to the lips he wants to coax apart.

'Open for me.'

He’s so much closer now, glancing at Jisung out of the corner of his feline eyes that are angled upwards in crinkles at the edges. They glimmer the same as his sharp cheekbones with the reflections of light off the surface of the pool, bathing the soft looking skin of his face in fragments of ethereal refractions that have his statuesque features glistening something akin to a crystal. Jisung can feel the air catch in his lungs (which he hopes to god isn’t noticed) before he’s once again turning his attention back to the water for his own safety.

It was walking through the smoky air with Minho at his side and feeling the heat behind his eyes from the high, how his body tinged numb in intervals and his mind tingled. It was walking past groups of people with his own group of people and feeling like he actually belonged there, genuinely. No forced or vicarious confidence or lack thereof. He was just here, and he was excited. Jisung knew this was all real and all actually happening and was entranced, and that was the most unreal part of it all.

Ooooh I'm super invested. Minho seems so mischievous and playful. Like, Jisung seems utterly confused at all the attention Minho is paying to him, but as a reader, it seems so obvious from our perspective. I can't wait to see how Minho and Jisung get closer, and I'm excited to see how they start getting physical. I don't think Jisung even realized it at the time, but when Minho got up in his space to shotgun, Jisung's enjoyment of being told what to do and just following orders is probably indicative of his preferences in other activities as well. I wonder if Minho picked up on that.

It feels like I'm also saved by them because reading those paragraphs about their close friendship just warms my heart..

Minho is so endeared by him, I just know it. The way he talks to him, holds him, kisses him is all so tender!!!! The possessiveness and near obsession with being with Jisung… I want to scream like a giddy teenager. But I’m also wondering about Chan and his potential crush now.

this was cinematic!! you have such a beautiful way with words that I felt like I was watching a coming of age film. how you wrote jisung's anxiety was so relatable and watching him grow was lovely. absolutely didn't call the chan reveal and when I tell you I cackled PLEASE. don't even get me starting on the minsung dynamic ugh perfect soulmates I'm weeping. also thanks for putting the image of hyunjin with nipple piercings in my mind I will now not know peace for at least a week.
