Supergirl is the name of several comic book series published by DC Comics, featuring various characters of the same name. The majority of the titles feature Superman's cousin Kara Zor-El. Other volumes include Matrix and Linda Danvers.

Fandom

Fandom for the overall Supergirl comics fandom is small in comparison to the Superman fandom and overall DC Comics fandom, with less than 300 works combined at Archive of Our Own and FanFiction.net. However the fandom overall of the characters that are called Supergirl: Kara Zor-El (Kara Kent, Kara Danvers), Matrix and Linda Danvers are popular. Although Supergirl has seven comic book title series, fandom seems to stick with the live-action or animated versions of the character(s): Smallville, DCAU, Supergirl (TV series), and DC Super Hero Girls. Crossovers or combining the comicsverse with the other versions appear fairly often in fanworks, this often appears because of lack of canon in the other fandoms (for example: In the Arrowverse, Batgirl does not appear, however in fanworks writers or artists can fixit so that Batgirl can exist in the same universe).

The Tumblr fandom focused on the comicsverse often have discussion posts, comparisons between TV series and the comics, scanned images of the comics, cosplay and fanart.
