It is an epic story in which the guys are more married than usual in a gen-like way. This story also includes an example of the Cartwright Curse.

It won three Torino Awards, the first in 2000.

Summary from the author in Black Bean Soup v.3 n.9: "The brutal murder of Hutch's fiancee draws the guys into what becomes a manhunt for a cunning serial killer. Meanwhile, Starsky's quest for the perfect investment property leads them to a neglected Victorian house and a new living arrangement. The peace and quiet of their new home is disrupted as Starsky is victimized by anti-Semitic propaganda from a neighbor, and finally violence, and the threat of an old secret from Hutch's past looms. Lots of h/c and emphasis on the strength and loyalty of S&H's remarkable friendship."

Reactions and Reviews

Hutch is going to get married! And they're going to have a child together and Starsky couldn't be happier for his partner. Everything is perfect...until it's not. His fiance is killed by a serial killer who goes after brides-to-be. As he tries to recover and work the case from the outside, Starsky asks him to enter into a joint investment in a new home. But it's never going to be easy for these two. Anti-Seminism strikes too close to home and Starsky's put right into the middle of it. A secret from Hutch's past threatens to destroy everything they worked for. And life will never be the same for Starsky and Hutch. [1]
