A Fine Romance is a short-lived American comedy-drama series that aired on ABC.
Short Canon Description
From For Those Who Came in Late #1:
A Fine Romance was called Ticket To Ride in England (basically because another show titled A Fine Romance [1]had run recently in the UK) and was the first of a new hybrid—a show owned and produced by a consortium of countries to further European television production, and get around laws regarding the import of American produced programming. Much of what is known about A Fine Romance is still in the form of rumor—at least one episode was filmed, advertised in the United States, and not shown; Terry Nation wrote scripts for several episodes that were never produced; the show was shown in England, France, and Australia, but no one knows how many episodes were actually filmed and shown; and there's a possibility that an original pilot starring Anthony Andrews as Michael Trent was recut into a dream sequence episode. So much for supposition....
The plot revolves around the production of an international television travel show called Ticket To Ride, hosted by Michael Trent and Louisa Phillips. The co-hosts spar perfectly on-camera, but their repartee continues off-camera as well—they can't live with each other, nor do they seem able to live without each other. Louisa is a magnet for trouble and Michael ends up taking the lumps, but they always make it back in front of the camera just in time to film, with the assistance of Friday, Miles Barrish, and George Shipman.
