Ampersand is a gen Star Trek: TOS e-zine anthology. From the publisher: "In written language terms, it refers to the 'and' symbol: &. In fan fiction terms, the ampersand is used to denote a platonic relationship - a friendship between two or more characters. It is commonly used to distinguish character relationships that are platonic in nature from romantic relationships, which use the '/' symbol instead. The ampersand is most often used to distinguish 'friendship' stories from 'slash' stories, which portray a romantic relationship between two characters of the same sex... Ampersand takes its inspiration, in part, from two other Star Trek TOS e-zines, Side by Side (Kirk/Spock slash) and Spiced Peaches (Spock/McCoy slash). The intention with Ampersand is to fill the gen fiction niche, for people who are interested in reading stories that focus on friendship relationships."
