Is it ok to change this to Category:Star Trek Journal Communities and narrow the scope accordingly? It looks like we already have a category for Star Trek mailing lists, and could create another one for Star Trek Newsgroups. I'm surprised there aren't more Star Trek LJ pages in here, but maybe they're hiding in the categories for the specific series? Or no one's started a Star-Trek-on-LiveJournal editing project yet :)--aethel (talk) 18:23, 11 February 2018 (UTC)

As an alternative to changing the category name, can we just narrow the scope to journal communities? Other types of online forums usually aren't called communities, and we have a lot of X Communities categories that are specific to journal platforms.--aethel (talk) 23:23, 5 July 2018 (UTC)

Yeah, I don't really understand what Communities (or "jouraling communities") are, but M'm confused that this category says it's for Mailing Lists and Websites but then we already have separate Category:Star Trek Mailing Lists and Category: Star Trek Websites. -- Quaelegit (talk) 03:55, 28 June 2022 (UTC)

Thanks! I moved the livejournal communities to a new category and deleted this category. There weren't enough newsgroup pages to justify creating a fandom-specific category for it IMHO. "journaling communities" is meant for groups on livejournal/deadjournal/journalfen/dreamwidth. --aethel (talk) 19:36, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
Makes sense. Thanks for taking care of it! -- Quaelegit (talk) 23:17, 19 July 2022 (UTC)
