Excerpts

How did you find yourself in MFU fandom? A month after my husband died, I was, as usual, on the web. I had found slash Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea fic and was pretty much enjoying that. I remembered a story I had read 2-3 years earlier, “The Man from Yesterday”. I went to fanfiction dot net and yep, it was still there. Since there is not a lot of slash fic on ff dot net, I went googling. Cue the symphony – I found Live Journal. It took me a couple of days to work up the courage to join, but I joined existing MFU sites. Oh yeah, then I ordered the DVD box set…and, I went onto eBay…

What was your first experience with MFU? I am proud to be a first cousin. Yes, I am THAT old. Even at the tender age of 7, I was equally taken with both The Pretty and The Brunet. Of course, at that time, I wanted them to be my brothers.

How did you find MFU stories, zines/ online/ other? Online. I attended my first con in 30 years, MediaWest, in 2008 & bought, oh a mere 24 zines. I ordered a lot online, interestingly enough, none through eBay. I’m proud to say that I have a pink padded footlocker (Target, found at Goodwill for $21, retailed for over $50, thank you very much) packed, packed I tell you, with slash MFU zines. Additionally, I am a very, very, very good internet researcher, and I put those skills to work unearthing every website with posted MFU fic. Okay, mostly slash fic. Okay 99% mostly slash fic. And…for once using that intellect that my late brother said I had … I spent a weekend or two downloading stories from websites. Because of that, I have the Ravenslair site before it was hacked to death & I have stuff from sites that have since been taken down.
