Diamant/Alcryst is an incestuous yaoi pairing in the Fire Emblem: Engage fandom between Diamant and Alcryst.
Canon
Diamant and Alcryst are the two Princes of Brodia, a Kingdom in Eloys that prides itself on its military might. Diamant is eight years older than Alcryst, but the two are still very close and have a good relationship. Alcryst suffers from major self-esteem issues due to being the youngest and their people clearly favoring his brother, but Diamant is firm and supportive, always encouraging his brother and reminding him of his strengths.
Alcryst joins the player's army to fight off Elusia on a bridge into Brodia, Diamant joining the next chapter when Elusia's army charges the castle. After failing to persuade their father not to meet the scheming King Hyacinth in battle, the two are forced to kill him upon discovering he's been turned into a Corrupted.
Fandom
The pairing took off very quickly, fans being charmed by the close relationship the brothers shared. While not a juggernaut, it's the second most commonly-written incest pairing on AO3 (beaten only by Veyle/Alear) and has a devoted following. While the pair is decidedly platonic in canon, fans were able to work with their close moments and draw more out of them.
The most common trope for the ship is mutual pining with a happy ending where Alcryst and Diamant are able to confess and consummate their feelings for one another. Hurt/comfort is also popular:
I can totally see why: those two characters are defined by how the older brother Diamant seems like such a perfect noble heir to the throne, and how worthless and inferior Alcryst feels in comparison, even though Diamant loves him so much and has his own insecurities: it’s the perfect set-up for some angsty hurt/comfort and romance! The canonical loss of their father and Alcryst admitting to having nightmares about losing his brother are also common springboards for such stories.
Because Alcryst has also canonically admitted to sneaking into Diamant's room after his nightmares to watch him sleep, somnophilia is common in smut fics.
