From the Editorial

Welcome to Heroes. Fandom is amazing to me, even after all these years. When I got a phone call from someone I hadn’t talked to in probably ten years, that wasn’t terribly unusual in fannish circles. When that person asked me if I was doing zines based on Kiefer Sutherland —that was a very pleasant surprise. Seems the fannish grapevine, even without the Internet, still works.

Beverly Sutherland is known for her K/S writing of a few years back. She discovered Kiefer and "Flatliners" more recently and it's been wonderful fun discussing the evolving Kiefer Sutherland-Lou Diamond Phillips fandom with her. Her writing is fascinating and I’ve enjoyed working with her on this novel, an entirely different perspective on "Flatliners" from the one I wrote about in "Inevitable" published in BOYS ARE BACK I, II and III. In Heroes, we learn that killing Billy was just the beginning of Nelson Wright's nightmare.

Beverly has more to come in this fandom as well. She's currently deep into "Sacrament" a powerful story based on "Renegades" everyone's favorite Kiefer and Lou movie. That story will either appear on its own as a novella or it will be published in the next issue of BOYS ARE BACK. SASE for information.

Many thanks to Suzan Lovett for the beautiful cover art. I think I owe you another favor. Again, fandom is wonderful. Take two old friends and a dilemma and look what you get.
