Author's Notes

SYNOPSIS: A bit confusing at first, I'm afraid. Sam is trying to stop a girl who's pregnant not to end her life. But things go wrong both in the leap and back at the project and something has to be changed. This time, however, it's Sam who has to tell Al what to do.

NOTES: The is the second in my trilogy. It is necessary to read "Good Intentions" to understand all of what's going on. I found while writing it that it was sorta confusing for reasons which will become apparant [sic] quickly, and so I have included in the date and place headings whether it's the original history or not. Pay attention to that and it should be pretty clear. Thanks! Oh, and for those of you who haven't read any of my stuff, I use ^^ as notation for flashbacks since people with text-only can't get italics and what not. [1]

Afterword

That's right, ladies and gentlemen...you said it would never happen. You would have bet money on it, but here it is: I actually, yes, gave Al a *gasp* happy ending!! The horror.... But there's still another story to come. And if you've ready _any_ of my other things, you know it does not bode well for poor Al. :) I hope to get it finished soon...soon being within the next month (sorry to make you wait [...] and then get it posted. It's got LOTS more emotion and (so far) considerably less action. I've tried to get in something for everyone in this trilogy.

So, thanks for reading and, until next time, keep the leap! [2]

Reactions and Reviews

Three boxes of hankies warning. I sobbed (this is an accolade - it takes a lot to make me cry) and swore in exclamation at one twist. If you can imagine a QL version of Groundhog Day, but dark , gritty and deeply moving,

then it's not far from the truth. The funding to PQL gets cut, Sam gets stranded in his host, Beth turns up, Sam gets shot and bleeds to death in Al's car (damp, incoherent noises), Donna goes off the rails, Senator Franklin acts like a nasty 'suit' out of the X Files and Al has a heart attack. (Had enough yet?). Best quote (referring to Sam): "And when he looked inside himself for the answer, all he found was an empty hole into which he had lost more than his best friend; he had lost himself." (Gulp)[3]
