Mei is one of the main characters of Lego Monkie Kid. She is best friends with MK, the titular Monkie Kid, and often supports him on his adventures. She also has her own fair share of solo adventures and character focus, struggling with her identity and legacy as a descendant of Ao Lie. She's generally spunky, impulsive, and aggressive in a fight, but confident and cheery around her friends.

- Dragon Traits: Mei is a dragon, or at least part-dragon, depending on how you read it; either way, many fanworks depict Mei with dragonlike horns, scales, or a tail. Wings generally are not included, as her canon dragon form has no wings; dragons in Chinese mythology (and other Eastern mythologies) generally don't.
