Nomin is the pairing of Lee Jeno and Na Jaemin from the K-Pop group NCT. It is one of the most popular pairings in the fandom, alongside Markhyuck.

Common Tropes

Nomin has a wide range of tropes. AUs are common, especially in a college or university setting.

• Friends to Lovers - Jeno and Jaemin are best friends, potentially one of the closest friendships in NCT, so fic tends to be more on the friends-to-lovers side. In contrast to Markhyuck whom are more Enemies to Lovers.

• Top Jeno/Bottom Jaemin - This is the most common dynamic written in more explicit works and PWP. In terms of numbers, "Top Jeno" has been included as a AO3 tag over 500 times in Nomin works, compared to "Top Jaemin" which makes up just over 300. Both dynamics are still popular. Jaemin is also often written as a power bottom and being more openly flirtatious and seductive. Jeno is more muscular (something Jaemin admires in real life), so body worship is common.

• Sunshine and Sunshine Protector - This is a common ship dynamic meme that is often related to Nomin. Jaemin is often the 'sunshine' and Jeno as his protector.

Tinhatting

Nomin has something been the subject of some tinhatting, fans who believe that the relationship is real, forced to keep their relationship a secret. There are analysis videos on their relationship. Though it does not gain as much compared to Markhyuck. Many NCT fans will discourage this behaviour or be uncomfortable with shipping due this ship being RPF.

Nomin interactions are just so fun to watch, honestly all of 00line have such a special bond, the definition of 4lyfers, and they've called each other their life long friends on many occasions. I truly adore all 00line interactions so much but in contrast to the dynamic or bickering sort of friendships they have like renhyuck/nahyuck/nohyuck - Nomin is so mellow and soft - and honestly to me that is their charm.

A quick background - Jeno and Jaemin joined SM on the same day i.e 3rd June 2013, the same building just a couple of hours apart - and have stuck together since then. There was a little while during their trainee period where they ended up becoming rivals due to adults comparing them to each other, but thankfully it never ended up translating to bitter feelings.

Their friendship is based on such mutual respect and care towards each other, it's a bit endearing how careful they are towards one another be it with words or actions. Jaemin has a tendency to be caring while Jeno is a responsible person, and i think this is why their friendship just has this mutual care. Even their bantering never verges on harsh words.

Jeno and Jaemin is the personification of the "sunshine & sunshine protector" meme. 🌞 I only started listening to NCT this year but I saw clips on YT that Jeno became so attached to Jaemin when theybwere reunited after Jaemin's hiatus.

I think you've said for us most of what we want to say about NoMin, which is in summary: their relationship is very precious, and SM sure knows how to leverage on this bond; they're probably one of NCT's most well endorsed pairs.

I really like how both try to prop up each other. Jeno recognises Jaemin's tendency to hole up at home, so drags him out for fresh air on their cycling trips. Jaemin knows Jeno tends to downplay his abilities, so tries to hype him up whenever he can (NCT 2020 Resonance Beyond Live: Jaemin proudly sharing that Jeno picked up MAW in just an hour in the waiting room)
