Paninya is a character in the Fullmetal Alchemist manga and the 2003 and 2009 anime series.
Canon
Paninya was a ward of Dominic LeCoulte, who took her in off the streets after witnessing her lose her ability to walk in a catastrophic accident. He provided her automail legs; in the 2003 anime she also received a new arm. When she's first introduced in the manga and 2009 show, she was a thief who pickpocketed Edward Elric's pocket watch that marks him as a State Alchemist.
