Pou is a Lebanese virtual pet game created by Paul Salameh and published by the company Zakeh Limited. The game, which is available on Android, iOS, and Blackberry devices, revolves around taking care of a triangular alien species of the same name.

The player has to raise Pou to reach adulthood. The player can feed, wash, and make Pou sleep. Items such as food and clothes can be bought with in-game coins, which is mostly obtained by playing minigames. Through an account, players can visit other players' Pous.

Fandom

The game is notably popular in Latin American countries such as Mexico and Brazil. Most fan animations, games, and parodies are often in Spanish or Portuguese. However, memes and videos involving methods on how to kill Pou (which is unattainable in the real game) have also emerged.

When the game was temporarily[1] removed from Google Play on December 2019, many people thought that Pou has finally been cancelled. This has led to many making tributes to Pou.

Since 2020, Pou began to be more popular again. A now-terminated YouTuber named Samila the Virtual Pets Fan started making animation memes involving Pou and other similar Android games. A Friday Night Funkin' mod based on the game entitled Friday Night Funkin' VS POU was also released around the time.[2]
