Reactions and Reviews

Just finished this --Wow -wonderful story. Some of it scared the hell out of me! god I thought I put her through the ringer! Very realistic and believable--moving on to the sequel as soon as I have some time. [1]

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your story, "Secrets, Lies and Deceptions," for the NC-17 J/C fanfic contest. I loved it so much and was so intrigued, I didn't even bother to print the entire thing out - but you might want to consider submitting it to a real fanfic publisher for print, my eyes were so tired the next day I couldn't read anything!! LOL It was well paced, kinda predictable in the beginning, but then it wasn't and that's where a good story comes from. The only thing that you should have included was more reaction dialogue from Chakotay while they were watching those log entries, to provide a break for the reader and to see what his reaction would be. Although the reactions for when the video of the rape was broadcast was excellent and you showed how our favorite heroine was human and vulnerable by having her attempt suicide, a very brave thing to write about. One that I couldn't even attempt to do and I've been writing fanfic for a long time. You researched this and that was excellent. I do the same for my work. [2]

...this is one of my favorite stories. This story goes beyond the typical J/C story. Heather's plots are more complicated and she portrays the characters realistically. This is a story that keeps you going. [3]

I can't express how much I loved this story. Heather didn't know it when she entered this story, but I had already read it before, but just to make sure that I wasn't overestimating my memories I read it a second time and yep I loved it as much as I did the first time I read it. Not once did I get board while I was reading this. And I found myself reading as fast as I could just to get to the next part to see what was going to happen. I thought this story also had a terrific ending. I hate it when I read a long story that has a sucky ending and I don't think Heather could have done a better job with it. She even managed to keep my interest after Chakotay and Janeway knocked boots, shook the sheets, done the deed; ok I think you get it. Which it isn't very easy for me to keep my interest in these NC17 stories after that but she managed to do just that. [4]
