Split is a psychological thriller-horror film starring James McAvoy as the main character. It takes place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is a sequel to Unbreakable starring Bruce Willis as David Dunn.

While most of the initial Tumblr activity surrounded the criticism of the film itself (portraying a DID character as the villain/boycotting the film itself[1]), since its release there have been viewers that became fans of the film - bringing some positive feedback about the film on Tumblr. Since the film's release date there have been some fannish activities such as moodboards and fanart on Tumblr with fanfiction mainly being posted to Archive of Our Own.
Fanfiction focuses mainly on Kevin, Kevin's personalities Dennis and The Beast in particular, and Casey Cooke. Casey/Dennis and Casey/The Beast are most common found pairings although gen works have appeared as does some x Reader fics. Alternate Universes and Post-Canon are the most common fics created. There is some interest in crossovers with X-Men: First Class due to James McAvoy connection.
