Talk:List of Witch Fandoms
Merge?
I'm wondering if this list should be merged with Witch. That page doesn't have a list of fandoms and I feel it might inspire some editors to think of topics to add to that page (which needs expansion) --Auntags (talk) 00:41, 1 March 2022 (UTC)
- As there was no objections, I've gone ahead and merged the list onto the Witch page. I'm now proposing deletion of this page. --Auntags (talk) 20:34, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
- I think some editors are working at cross purposes here. Someone else is creating whole canon type categories instead of the list pages: see Category talk:Werewolf Fandoms. There's also a discussion about it at Template talk:List. If we're folding the list of canons pages back into the trope pages, we could make the list pages into redirects and add Category:Fandoms by Canon Type so that people will know where the information is.--aethel (talk) 20:48, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
- Merging this page with Witch was a good point, however I would like to know if the other fandom list pages will be active or will they be merged as well? And what do you mean there wasn't a list of fandom on this page? I got a little confused here. I think a listing page is good to prevent a particular article from being too long in the "fandom examples" section because there will always be a predilection for some fandoms to another and maybe a list can cover that better? I'm only commenting because I was notified about the deletion of this page (but not about the talk page, too weird) -- Ellakbhesse (talk) 21:33, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
- I'll review the Template List talk page and add to that discussion. Changes to the Witch page can be reverted if they're not in line with what is agreed in that discussion. And this page will NOT be deleted while that discussion is ongoing --22:36, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
- Even if this page should be merged, I think this page should not be deleted, as that would mess up attribution requirements of the Creative Commons license. See wikipedia:WP:Merge and delete. - I don't think it must be kept, but it might be a good idea to keep it as a redirect anyway. On the one hand, this is literally a list of links, nothing more. I doubt it's copyrightable. If not copyrightable, deleting it wouldn't violate anything license-wise. On the other hand, it's kind of nice to be able to see the history of how it looked like before the merge. - Hanif Al Husaini I don't think Fanlore follows the same rules as Wikipedia so we wouldn't be breaking any laws by deleting pages that are just links. This has been done before, several pages without function are usually generated and removing them is correct. I agree with Potpotkettle -- Ellakbhesse (talk) 04:03, 14 April 2023 (UTC)

Add the page
Should add Amc's "A Discovery of Witches" tv series (based on a book series as well.)
Does list include the reboot of "Charmed"? What about the films Witcher series?
The series "Sleepy Hollow" which was not related to the film starring Johhny Depp.
I wonder, as a general questuon, how do we determine when a page is outdated? Some older TV show pages still show as "- present" but they may have been off the air with new episodes for several years.
