Talk:The Dubious Ethics of "Real-Person Fiction"

This article was published on Medium, which is a blogging platform. Do we count medium.com as part of "Meta on Fansites"? Do we have enough for a Category:Meta on Medium? Or since it was written by a journalist for a non fannish audience, do we leave off the meta categories?--aethel (talk) 21:33, 13 May 2018 (UTC)

Another question: Have any RPF fans responded to this article? It would be good to have a fan reaction section. I did a search on tumblr, fail_fandomanon, dreamwidth, twitter, and pinterest, but didn't see any fan discussion. If no one noticed or responded to this piece, that also might be worth mentioning.--aethel (talk) 22:10, 13 May 2018 (UTC)

It should probably be moved to a News Media template. --MPH (talk) 01:56, 14 May 2018 (UTC)
I also looked around for fan reactions and found nothing substantive, although I do see that some folks I recognize shared the article back when it was published. I agree with the decision to move this to a News Media template, and would also add - if a piece of writing is posted to an individual fan/user's Medium account (or to a fan-centered publication, I suppose), then I would count a Medium essay as meta; otherwise, seems like news media/journalism. - Fandomgeographies (talk) 19:04, 14 May 2018 (UTC)
